Kiwi reigning light heavyweight world boxing champion Geovana Perez has confirmed the first defence of her title.

The 42-year-old will take on Canadian and world number two heavyweight Claire Hafner in October.

Peres fought back her intense fear of heights to hold a training session today on Auckland's Sky Tower to launch the title defence.

Peres says she's much more comfortable with taking on the Canadian on a different level, her opponent will have to drop down a weight division for the fight.
