Having fought his way back into the All Blacks' squad, halfback Brad Weber is only getting started in his quest to prove his worth at the highest level.
Having made his debut against Manu Samoa in 2015, 28-year old Weber has had wait four years to be back in the All Blacks' plans, with the likes of Mitchell Drummond, Bryn Hall and Chiefs teammate Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi selected ahead of him.
After a brilliant Super Rugby season with the Chiefs though, Weber has been named in Steve Hansen's 41-man squad, playing as the third choice halfback behind Aaron Smith and TJ Perenara for the first two Tests of the Rugby Championship at the very least.
Speaking to 1 NEWS this afternoon though, Weber made it clear that he won't simply be content at just being an All Black, out to stake his claim for a spot at this year's World Cup in Japan.
"This is just the start, now I've got to work even harder to prove I deserve to be here," Weber said.
"It's been a long few years, a lot's gone on, it's incredibly satisfying that a lot of my hard work's starting to pay off."
