Man charged with arson over Southland house fire

A man has been charged over a suspicious fire at a house in Southland in the earlier hours of Saturday morning.

Police say a 21-year-old man is set to appear in Invercargill District Court today charged with arson over the blaze at a Seaward Road house.

The fire occurred at around 1am on June 29.

Police say they are not seeking anyone else over the incident.
