NZ Post centre near Auckland Airport evacuated due to suspicious package

An NZ Post centre near Auckland Airport has been evacuated due to a suspicious package being found this afternoon.

Police told 1 NEWS a cordon is in place along Laurence Stevens Dr and Geoffrey Robert Dr.

The New Zealand Defence Force’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team is at the scene and police say they have now "made the package safe".

Police say the package was "incorrectly labelled" and posed no threat to the public.
