Ajax looked young and energetic in beating an injury and suspension-ravaged Spurs in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.

The TVNZ FC panel say Tottenham appear to be “running on fumes” in the final weeks of the season despite having a huge amount still to play for.

They also tip Liverpool to get something from Barcelona in the other semi, given the English club’s form and Barca’s over-reliance on Messi.

Elsewhere, Chris Chang and the team look at the madness at Leeds in the Championship, and wonder how Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United, as well as Spurs, are all making such a mess of claiming the last two Champions league spots.

Plus the big call is made that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should show leadership and bench David de Gea after his recent series of goalkeeping blunders.
