A lucky punter from Taipa in the Far North has become the third person in two weeks to hit the Powerball jackpot, winning $5.5 million in tonight's Lotto draw.
The prize is made up of $5 million from Powerball First Division and $500,000 from Lotto First Division.
The winning ticket was sold at Taipa Foodmarket.
An Auckland player took home $5.3 million with Powerball last Wednesday and another Auckland player won $16.2 million on Wednesday April 17.
Another Lotto player from Taupō will also be celebrating tonight after winning $500,000 with Lotto First Division. The winning Lotto ticket was sold at Paper Plus Taupō.
Meanwhile, Strike Four rolled over tonight and will be $300,000 on Saturday.
