Nearly 100 complaints of discrimination against transgender people received

The Human Rights Commission’s received 90 complaints of alleged unlawful discrimination against transgender people in the last 10 years.

These include incidents of bullying in the work place, refusal of service in shops and exclusion from participating in sport, information provided to 1 NEWS shows.

The Commission’s also had two complaints lodged about transgender people in relation to female bathroom use.

The other was about alleged favourable treatment of transgender people.
