A road has reopened after a school, kindy and shop were sent into lockdown over a possible firearms incident in Auckland's Glen Eden today.
Police responded to reports of a shot possibly being fired around 10am.
Police say they are following "strong lines of inquiry" after the incident.
A strong police presence, including members of the Armed Offenders Squad, were in the area this morning.

Police have since left the scene and West Coast Road, near Glendale Road, has reopened.
A witness who works at The Landscape Yard, a commercial building opposite the property, told 1 NEWS he heard police calling for a person inside the home to come outside with their hands up.
Glen Eden Primary School was among the nearby locations that went into lockdown.
"We will continue to update the website as information comes to hand," an employee posted on the school's Facebook page. "Please do not phone or come to the school as you will not be attended to. If you have any questions, please contact 111," the post says.
Our Kids Early Learning Centre was also on lockdown.
The Salvation Army family store on Glendale Road locked its doors with customers inside, as a precaution. A person at the store told 1 NEWS earlier that there were police cars everywhere and they heard reports that someone was walking around with a gun.
The Glen Eden Library was also on lockdown but has since reopened.
