The Hurricanes will lose another top player next season after lock Sam Lousi announced he is joining Welsh club Scarlets in 2020.
Lousi confirmed the move this morning, saying he was "excited" about the new adventure.
"It is a team that plays an exciting brand of rugby and I am looking forward to linking up with a group of players that are ambitious to be winning trophies.
"Hopefully, I can help them push forward and achieve further success over the next few years."
The 27-year-old was recruited to the club by Crusaders assistant coach Brad Mooar, who will take over Scarlets when current coach Wayne Pivac steps up to be the head coach of Wales when Warren Gatland steps down after this year's World Cup.
Lousi will join fellow Kiwis Blade Thomson and Johnny McNicholl there.
Lousi debuted for the Hurricanes in their 31-31 draw with the British and Irish Lions in 2017 and has since earned 21 Super Rugby caps for the team.
"He is a strong, aggressive ball carrier and also possesses the handling skills that fits in with our style of rugby at the Scarlets," Scarlets general manager of rugby Jon Daniels said.
"He has played in a lot of high-profile matches for the Hurricanes and was an ever-present last season. We look forward to welcoming him on board."
