Concerns are growing for a woman last seen at a Whangārei Countdown over one month ago.

Police say Bridget Simmonds was las seen about midday on February 23 when she was dropped off by family at Countdown Regent.

The 42-year-old Northland woman was reported missing on March 6 and police have been searching for her since then.

"Bridget hasn’t been in contact with her mother or family since she disappeared, which they say is very unusual.

"They are growing increasingly worried about her," Detective Constable Joseph Reuben says.

Police say she was last seen wearing a dark coloured singlet and black jeans and has a large distinctive tattoo on her upper left arm of a fairy.

She also had three large black and grey backpacks with her.

Police believe she may have taken a taxi or may have been offered a ride back to her home address on February 23.

Anyone with information as to her whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Constable Joseph Reuben on 021 191 5901 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
