Christchurch Art Gallery reveals their latest incredibly life like work of art

The Christchurch Art Gallery has just been delivered the latest of what has been dubbed it's "five great works".

A new piece by famed Australian sculptor Ron Mueck was unveiled today.

The work was created especially for Christchurch and took many years and a $1 million fundraising campaign to complete.

The sculpture is called Chicken/Man and features an elderly man sitting at a table in his underwear looking at a chicken perched on top of it.

From 10am Wednesday the public will be able to get their first up close look at the work housed in the Christchurch Art Gallery.
