Rihanna, Snoop dogg, Ice Cube react to violent death of rapper Nipsey Hussle

A number of music stars have reacted to the death of rapper Nipsey Hussle, who was shot and killed in Los Angeles today.

The Grammy nominated rapper was shot dead outside his clothing store aged 33, sending shockwaves through the music industry.

"This doesn't make any sense! My spirit is shaken by this! Dear God may His spirit Rest In Peace and May You grant divine comfort to all his loved ones! ... I'm so sorry this happened to you," Rihanna wrote on Twitter.

"Prayers out to the whole family, man. This ... got to stop, man," Snoop Dogg said on one of several video posts on Instagram about the killing.

"Sad, mad and disappointed about my guy @Nipsey Hussle," Ice Cube posted on Twitter.

According to a report by NBC, Hussle, real name Ermias Davidson Ashedom was shot multiple times outside a clothing store he owns in Hyde Park.

The 33-year-old was pronounced dead after being transported to hospital. Two others were injured in the shooting outside the rapper's Marathon Clothing Company store.

No one has been arrested over the shooting.

Hussle's album Victory Lap was nominated for best rap album at this year's Grammy Awards losing out to Cardi B's Invasion of Privacy.

He collaborated with famous artists such as Snoop Dogg and Drake during his career.

Hussle leaves behind one child he had with actress Lauren London.
