Blues winger Tanielu Tele'a has been handed a four-week suspension from Super Rugby for a tackle that resulted in a red card from Saturday's win over the Stormers.
Tele'a was sent off late in the Blues' 24-9 win at Eden Park after tipping Dillyn Leyds. Tele'a was tracking a high ball when Leyds jumped to catch it, resulting in the Stormers winger cart-wheeling over Tele'a and landing on his back.
The action contravenes Law 9.17: A player must not tackle, charge, pull, push or grasp an opponent whose feet are off the ground.
The 20-year-old entered a guilty plea and was handed a four-week ban by a SANZAAR judiciary, meaning he won't play again until after May 4th.
It means Tele'a is unavailable for selection in the Blues upcoming games against the Waratahs, Chiefs, Highlanders and Brumbies but will return in time for a Kiwi derby against the Hurricanes.
