Police are seeking information about the identities of three men who robbed a Countdown supermarket armed with a metal pole.
The robbery took place on Saturday, March 30 about 11.20pm at the Countdown Northlands Mall supermarket in Christchurch.
One of the males stood at the entrance to the store while the other two went inside - one was armed with a metal pole similar to a crowbar.
They approached a cashier and demanded the money from the till - she was not hurt, but was left badly shaken afterwards.
On their way out, they assaulted a security guard with the pole, leaving him injured but not requiring a trip to hospital.
The three disguised their appearance by wearing dark hoodies, gloves and balaclavas or masks on their faces.
One of them was wearing a small backpack.
Police are asking anyone with any idea who they could be to call them on 03 363 7400.
Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.
