Former Warriors back Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad has opened up about his exit from the Auckland club, having found a new home with the Canberra Raiders.
Nicoll-Klokstad, 23, left Auckland for Canberra in the NRL's off-season, facing a near impossible feat of trying to break into the Warriors' back three of Ken Maumalo, David Fusitu'a and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.
The versatile youngster has adapted to life at the Raiders in no time though, scoring twice in Canberra's 17-10 over Newcastle on Friday night.
Speaking to the NRL's website, Nicoll-Klokstad opened up about the nature of his exit from the Warriors.
"It came about pretty quickly, I got a call saying there might be an opportunity here and I got told if it happens it'll happen quickly and it did," he said.
"I didn't realise how tough it was going to be until I got the OK that everything was going to be finalised and then it hit me - I was going to be leaving boys I'd got to know over four years.
"But the opportunity was too good to pass up and I was looking forward to the change."
Fresh from his double against the Knights, Nicoll-Klokstad and the Raiders next travel to face the Cowboys next Saturday.
