Police seek witnesses after elderly pedestrian fatally hit by car in Wellington

Police are appealing for information after an elderly man died following collision with a car in the Wellington suburb of Miramar.

The incident took place yesterday morning about about 8.10am on Broadway near Crawford Green.

The man, in his late 80s, was using a walking stick when he appears to have been hit by a car.

Police have said the incident was not a hit and run and that the driver is assisting police.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the crash is asked to called Wellington police on 04 381 2077.
