More tensions in Christchurch as armed police swarm seaside suburb

There were more tensions in Christchurch today as armed police swarmed a seaside suburb north of the city.

Spencer Park residents told 1 NEWS dozens of armed officers and the police helicopter descended on a property on Lower Styx Road around 4pm.

Witnesses say four men were seen being taken away after a short standoff.

Police would only say they were executing a pre-planned search warrant, not giving any more details.
