Blues coach Leon MacDonald came up with a witty response after almost being nailed with a ball at training today by young first-five Harry Plummer.

MacDonald was midway through a media session with reporters, when he and 1 NEWS sports presenter Andrew Saville were almost hit by a stray ball.

"Good sign though," said Saville after the incident.

MacDonald, however, came up with a cheeky jibe about Plummer’s kicking game.

"That's out on the full isn't it?" said MacDonald.

Plummer, 20, has been demoted to the bench for the Blues' clash against the Stormers on Saturday at Eden Park after a mixed performance last Friday in his side’s 33-26 win over the Highlanders.
