A new art exhibition that kicked off yesterday sees a myriad of sculptures dotted around Auckland's Waiheke Island.

Perpetual Guardian Sculpture on the Gulf sees 29 art works installed on the island.

Among them is a massive steel work, so big, it required a very special lift to work.
