One person critically injured after crash in South Wairarapa

One person is critically injured and has been flown to Wellington Hospital in a critical condition following a crash in South Wairarapa.

Emergency services were called to the serious crash involving a truck and a car on State Highway 2, near Moroa Road, in Tauherenikau, just before 12.40pm today.

One person was initially trapped in a vehicle, but has since been flown to hospital in a critical condition, police said in a statement.

Diversions are in place and the Serious Crash Unit will examine the scene.
