Fireworks, big crowds and rowdy celebrations are the recipe for many a New Year’s Eve, but in some parts of the world those elements led to disaster this week.

1 NEWS reporter Sam Clarke took a look at celebrations that didn’t go to plan – including a spectacular light show that no one asked for, a Dutch bonfire competition that quickly span out of control and a bridge collapse in Moscow.
