Rugby league fans will have a chance to see the NRL's biggest prize up close, with Roosters stars Joseph Manu and Zane Tetevano bringing the Provan-Summons trophy to the Tokoroa Christmas Parade.
With the pair part of the Roosters' successful NRL campaign, ending with a Grand Final win over the Melbourne Storm, Tokoroa natives Manu and Tetevano will be part of this year's parade, showing off the NRL trophy to their home town.
Manu's uncle Billy Maea has played a huge part in organising the pair's involvement, telling Stuff: "What are the odds of having two players from Tokoroa in the same NRL team, let along winning the NRL Grand Final?"
"It is fantastic and we're feeling really good about it," he said.
Meanwhile, South Waikato Mayor Jenny Shattock told Stuff that the pair will be welcomed with open arms.
"It's an absolute pleasure to have the boys in the Christmas Parade," she said.
The Tokoroa Christmas Parade takes place on Saturday December 8.
