Police launch homicide inquiry after death of elderly man in Petone last night

A homicide inquiry has been launched following the death of an elderly person in Petone, Wellington, last night.

Police were called to the scene on Jackson Street about 9:50pm, where a 71-year-old man was found dead.

Investigations are ongoing and police are currently working through their inquiries with a person.

Anyone with information they believe may help police with their inquiries is urged to get in touch with Wellington Police on (04) 381 2000.

Information can also be given anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
