After a groundbreaking season that saw the Warriors return to the NRL's top eight for the first time since 2011, club CEO Cameron George says that the side won't be taking things easy in 2019.

After a spate of poor seasons, the Warriors flipped the NRL's form book on it's head in 2018, starting the season with five straight wins, before finishing eighth on the ladder to earn a finals spot.

Speaking to 1 NEWS though, George says that the club are looking for even more on the field next time out.

"This club's very proud of who we are. The expectation in 2018 was that the players put pride into their performances, as well as the staff in everything they did," he said.

"I think we did an okay job this year, (but) in 2019 it's important we go again, and we improve on the year we've just had.

"We've forgotten about that, the pre-season has started, so it's onwards and upwards.

"There's accountability and no excuses happening right across the board now, 2019 is going to be a great year."
