Meet the kind-hearted Wellington man who brings Christmas cheer to kids who may not get a present

One of Santa's helpers has received his his own special surprise as ASB's Good as Gold gets into the festive spirit in Wellington.

Pera Barrett single-handedly started Shoebox Christmas, a scheme that pairs up people willing to give a Christmas present to a kid who may not get one.

After three years the scheme is booming.

Seven Sharp's Sam Wallace played Santa when he visited the kind-hearted Pera in the video above.
