Police are asking for help from the public in identifying a man and a vehicle which is part of their investigation into a homicide that took place in Waikato earlier this year.
Twenty-three-year-old Robert Nelson was killed after he was shot multiple times in the suburb of Melville in the early hours of 8 July and police have released a picture containing a car and man they are interested in finding.
"Police would like to hear from anyone who has seen the vehicle pictured or recognises the man in the blue hoodie," Detective Inspector Graham Pitkethley said.
"The vehicle pictured is believed to be a red Mazda Atenza and we would like to find the owner of this vehicle.
"The licence plate on the vehicle pictured belongs to a black ute believe to have been stolen from Papakura on or around 6 July."
The image was taken from a service station on Cavendish Road in South Auckland on July 18.
