A New South Wales mother has been jailed for at least 17 years after admitting she performed sex acts on her three young children to win the affection of men online.
The woman, 31, filmed the abuse of her son and two daughters, the youngest four years old at the time, over a two year period, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.
District Court judge Phillip Mahony said that the child pornography videos were used to attract men online "as a way of showing she wanted a relationship with them," the Herald reports.
"She said she committed the offences out of thinking that men may feel something for her if she satisfied them," Judge Mahony said.
"She had used her children as a means of getting attention from men."
The woman pleaded guilty to eight charges, including sexual intercourse with a person under 10, and possessing child abuse material, in July.
"I hate myself for what I did," the woman told forensic psychologist Dr Christopher Lennings.
"In all reality I don't understand why I did it ... I thought that they [the men] had feelings for me."
The mother was arrested after three of the videos showing her and one of her daughters was sent to the International Child Sexual Exploitation Database, run by the US-based National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.
Yesterday Judge Mahony sentenced the woman to a maximum of 25 years behind bars.
