All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster believes injured players Ryan Crotty and Sam Cane are on the road to recovery and could be a chance to play against Argentina this Saturday in Nelson.

Crotty has been out of rugby action since he suffered a severe head knock in the first Bledisloe Cup Test against the Wallabies last month in Sydney.

Cane was sidelined after suffering a concussion during the second Bledisloe Cup Test at Eden Park a fortnight ago.

Foster told media today at press conference that he has been happy with both players' recovery and participation at training this morning.

"I think we have already flagged that Sonny's (Sonny Bill Williams) not (available), said Foster.

"Ryan and probably Sam are the other two being talked about.

"They've come through training today really well and both participated at a decent level.

"So again like everything we will assess that in the next couple of days.

It's pleasing to see their involvement."

The All Blacks name their 23-man squad to face Argentina on Thursday morning.
