Second woman dies in hospital days after North Auckland head-on crash

A second person has died in hospital following a head-on crash between two cars in Waimauku earlier this week.

The incident on Wednesday afternoon saw two vehicles collide on State Highway 16, with a 64-year-old woman dying that evening in Auckland Hospital.

Police confirmed today a second woman died in hospital last night due to her injuries.

The crash, which happened at around 5.15pm near McPike Road, is still being investigated by police.
