Meet the 88-year-old rugby coach sharing his undying love for the game with the next generation of All Blacks

For a man just shy of 90, there's not much Sacred Hearts’ Brother Dunstan Henry can't do.

The former military man is a gentle general on the paddock but has an impressive resume behind the calm exterior.

Back in 2010, 1 NEWS followed Brother Dunstan as he clinched what was believed to be his 17th age grade title.

Eight years on, he admits he’s lost count.

"Honestly, I have no idea, he said.

"And I don't know where that 17 came from!"

But after more than 60 years of service to the game, just what is his winning formula?

"The main thing is to get good kids - kids who are prepared to work hard and who'll listen to you and are keen and reliable."

He says it's that love of the game that has been the secret to his longevity but he knows when his time will come to step aside.

"When I stop enjoying it," he said.

"When it becomes a burden because then it's not a sport anymore."

Brother Dunstan’s under 15 side at Sacred Heart delivered another title for him this year, beating St Kentigern 32-5.

So how does an 88-year-old celebrate?

"I’ll come home and have a few beers!"
