Lower Hutt resident arrested, accused of stabbing another woman multiple times

A woman has been arrested after a person was critically injured in a stabbing incident in Lower Hutt yesterday night.

Police were called to a property in Orewa Grove, Wainuiomata, at around 10pm.

A 33-year-old woman was taken to Wellington Hospital in a critical condition with multiple stab wounds, police say.

Hours later, a 30-year-old woman was arrested at a nearby address.

She is due to appear in Lower Hutt District Court tomorrow.

Charges have yet to be determined.

Police are investigating the circumstances following the incident.
