Warriors skipper Roger Tuivasa-Sheck admitted he wasn't sure how Simon Mannering managed to win five player of year awards with the club, until he linked up with him in 2016.
The 25-year-old said Mannering's work ethic amazes him still, after playing more than two seasons with the veteran at NRL level.
Mannering is set to play his 300th match for the New Zealand NRL club tonight, when they take on the Raiders at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland.
"So when I turned up and finally watched a game I was just like blown away," said Tuivasa-Sheck.
"This guy is a machine, he doesn't do all the fancy stuff but he does everything else. Literally everything else.
"Just the way he makes tackle after tackle, no matter how he is feeling. No matter what time it is in the game."
Mannering announced last month that this year will be his last in the NRL, after announcing in June his retirement from international duties.
"He's just there every time, he's solid.
"Huge respect for that guy."
A win tonight for the Warriors could result them playing a home play-off game next week, pending other NRL results.
