Canterbury forwards coach Reuben Thorne says his young side can take a lot of positives out of last week's NPC win, as his team prepares for unbeaten Bay of Plenty tomorrow afternoon.
The Canterbury side lost their Mitre 10 Cup season opener to Tasman Mako, going down 25-17 in Blenheim a fortnight ago.
Thorne believes things are beginning to click for his NPC side and says they are confident heading into tomorrow’s clash against the Steamers.
"We've made progress last week against Wellington and now they have got to step up again," said Thorne, following the 27-20 win over the men from the capital.
"It is a younger side overall, but that's exciting you know.
"It's a good chance for these young guys to put their hand up and say they are ready for this level of rugby."
Canterbury sit second to last on the Premiership ladder, with Bay of Plenty in second place in the Championship division.
