If playing an NBA side for the first time isn't enough, the Breakers' historic game against the Suns in Phoenix is taking on extra importance.

"If you can play basketball, if you're in the North Pole - we're going to try and find you and find a way to get you interested in playing here and playing for us."
The October matchup is part of the evolving partnership between the Australasian League and the NBA but for the Breakers, the game has close ties to one of their new owners.
Shawn Marion played for both the Suns and Dallas Mavericks in a 16-year NBA career.
Breakers general manager Dillon Boucher says there's now hope Marion’s playing past as well as other contacts in the US, could lead to more regular fixtures.
"The more we build these relationships, the more these things become a real possibility."
And what about an NBA team coming to New Zealand? West says the Suns are certainly open to it.
"I'd like you guys to give us a trip out that way! I'd like to see that part of the world."
