Hurricanes star Nehe Milner-Skudder has opened up about his recent injury struggles, having made his first Super Rugby start of the season in his side's 28-19 win over the Lions on Saturday.
After missing nearly all of 2016 with a shoulder injury, the flying winger suffered the same problem again on last year's All Blacks end of year tour, forcing him out until only last week against the Sunwolves.
Speaking to media at Hurricanes training yesterday, Milner-Skudder detailed the difficulty in having to return from continued setbacks, watching teammates shine in his absence.
"For now, I'm pretty chuffed just to get an opportunity," he said.
"Coming back from an injury, and seeing how well the boys are playing, you can't get your hopes up too much, you've got to be realistic at the same time.
"You just want what's best for the team, and if that's other guys continuing their hot form then I'm pretty happy with that.
"Any chance I get, it's about enjoying it, doing what I need to do, and helping the team out."
