Japanese thrill-seekers left hanging upside down 30m in the air after rollercoaster breaks down

May 2, 2018

A rollercoaster at Universal Studios in Japan made an emergency stop today, leaving more than 60 passengers upside down.

Japanese broadcaster NHK showed footage of the passengers being rescued from the "Flying Dinosaur" by theme park workers.

All the passengers were rescued after about two hours and no injuries were reported, NHK said.

The rollercoaster was reportedly stopped at a height of somewhere between 20 and 30 metres above ground.

NHK reported that the emergency stop was made after a safety device detected an abnormality.

This "Flying Dinosaur" got stuck carrying passengers as many as three times between 2016 and 2017, according to a Japanese media report.
