Man allegedly yelling and swearing at Poppy Day collectors in Tauranga charged with disorderly behaviour

A man has been charged with disorderly behaviour after allegedly yelling and swearing at Defence Force members collecting for Poppy Day in Tauranga.

Police say members of the public reported a man yelling and swearing at Defence Force members collecting for Poppy Day in Red Square, Tauranga on Friday 20 April.

The 47-year-old man has been charged with disorderly behaviour and is due to appear in Tauranga District Court tomorrow.

According to police the incident was also captured on video.

Police say they are of aware ongoing concerns in the area of Red Square and are working with Tauranga City Council to try and resolve the issues.
