Male dies after incident involving train in Tauranga

A person is dead after an incident involving a train this morning in Tauranga.

Police confirmed the death, which happened about 6.40am near Port of Tauranga. 

They say the body is that of a male.

In a statement Port of Tauranga says: "The KiwiRail train was carrying containers from Port of Tauranga's inland port in Auckland, MetroPort, and the person was found when it arrived at the terminal at Sulphur Point."
