After victory over Kiwi heavyweight Joseph Parker in Cardiff this morning, Anthony Joshua has set his sights firmly set on American fighter and WBC champion, Deontay Wilder.
Joshua's victory over Parker via unanimous decision saw him capture the Kiwi's WBO title, adding them to his WBA, IBF and IBO crowns, now only requiring the WBC belt to have unified the heavyweight decision.
Speaking in his post fight press conference, Joshua and promoter Eddie Hearn outlined their intentions of meeting Wilder in the ring.
"I think 2018 was the time to capture all the belts. We're one away now," Joshua said.
"I'd love to maybe go to America with Eddie (Hearn) or Rob (McCracken), and look at the landscape and see how serious they are."
Hearn also spoke about the prospect of Joshua lining up against Wilder.
"It has to happen in 2018, or we're going to have some major problems with the politics.
"It's just a case of whether it happens next, or if we fight in the summer.
"It's like AJ (Joshua) says, if they stepped up and actually were serious about the fight, and serious about a deal that we're more than fair to offer them then it could happen next.
"But with them, they're so erratic and unpredictable, we don't know what to believe."
