Warriors' talisman Shaun Johnson ruled out of clash with Roosters

March 31, 2018
The Warriors' halves pairing were influential in the 32-20 victory over the Rabbitohs.

The Warriors will face the Roosters in Sydney tonight without halfback Shaun Johnson who has been ruled out of the match with a groin strain.

The New Zealand franchise, who are attempting to win a fourth consecutive match to start the season, will also be without prop James Gavet, who injured his hamstring yesterday before the team flew out of Auckland, according to the New Zealand Herald.

Mason Lino will start at halfback while Gavet’s absence means the Warriors are now down two props on rotation after Sam Lisone was suspended for one match.

According to the NRL website, Bunty Afoa comes into the starting lineup to replace Gavet.

The severity of the injuries to both Johnson and Gavet are not yet known.
