State Highway 1 north of Auckland remains closed after fatal shooting

State Highway 1 north of Auckland is still closed after a fatal shooting occurred early hours this morning. 

Police estimate it will be open at 3pm today. 

It is closed between the Orewa (Grand Drive Interchange) and Warkworth township.

NZTA’s traffic alerts show the road has been closed since 4.06am.

A police spokesperson says the road is expected to remain closed for much of today as officers work at the scene.

Motorists are being asked to delay travel if possible and use diversions via State Highway 16.
