The Australian cricket team want to abandon the fourth Test against South Africa starting on Friday, according to a report.
CA CEO James Sutherland announced this morning that captain Steve Smith, vice-captain David Warner and opener Cameron Bancroft were sent home from South Africa in disgrace.
Morale is so bad in the remaining tour squad that players don't want to play in the fourth Test in Johannesburg and instead return home, former Australian Test cricketer Gavin Robertson told Fox Sports News today.
"They are going to break apart in the next couple days," Robertson said.
"I spoke to people this morning, the players don't want to play the test. Generally, they don't feel like playing because they are absolutely gutted."
The team cancelled a training session on Wednesday night (local time) as the team continues to be ripped apart by the scandal.
Teammates are fuming at Warner, who reportedly told Cricket Australia investigators that the bowlers were aware of the ball tampering plot.
The bowlers are so angry at Warner, who left the team's WhatsApp group, that it may mean the end of his Test career.
"They are blistering to the point where I understand that one of the bowlers was thinking of approaching team management and saying, 'get him (Warner) off the tour',” Courier Mail cricket write Robert Craddock told Fox Sports.
"It's a major blow-up. They aren't on talking terms."
