Seven Sharp hits the streets of Auckland to call out transit lane cheats

Auckland's busy streets have transit lanes reserved for buses and cars with three people or more but Seven Sharp took to the streets to see just how many people cheat the rules.

It seems simple but some people using the lanes on the North Shore's Onewa Road think the rules don't apply to them.

If you've been on the roads this week in our largest cities, you may have experienced a phenomenon called 'March Madness'.

To put it simply that's when everyone is back at work, school and university and the roads and public transport links are at full capacity.

The problem isn't helped by those who flout the rules, so Lucas de Jong hit the roads to ask why people took the law into the own cars.
