Man dies in Christchurch house fire

A man has died after being seriously burned in a house fire in Christchurch last night.

Emergency services were called to the Burwood address about 6pm yesterday.

A police spokesperson said a man was taken to hospital but died of his injuries in hospital overnight.

The matter has been referred to the coroner.
