Supression lifted on murder-accused South Korean facing extradition

A judge has allowed the publication of the name of a South Korean man currently facing extradition from New Zealand to face murder charges back home.

He is Sungkwan Kim, 33.

Kim is facing charges in New Zealand of theft, which he admitted to today.

South Korea has also called for his extradition after he arrived in New Zealand last week, as he is accused of killing three family members in South Korea before fleeing to New Zealand.

Judge Dawson said he will be sentenced on December 1 for the theft charges which took place two years ago.

The arrest warrant from South Korean authorities has also been approved by New Zealand.
