Mate Ma'a Tonga coach Kristian Woolf has opened up about his side's unique diet at a supporters event in Otahuhu, Auckland this afternoon.
With the team having arrived in Auckland from Australia last night, Woolf spoke to 1 NEWS about his side's time in Cairns, where they defeated Scotland 50-4 in their tournament opener.
"We ate a bit of horse, a bit of dog," Woolf said.
"It was nice, I enjoyed it."
Tonga are next in action against Samoa in the Rugby League World Cup, with the two Pacific powerhouses coming face to face in Hamilton on Saturday.
