Konrad Hurrell is up to his old TV reporter antics again, this time giving audiences an up close and rather personal experience of Mate Ma'a Tonga's welcoming at Auckland International Airport this morning.

Hurrell and his teammates were greeted by approximately 2,000 adoring fans at the airport when he grabbed the mic and jumped in front of the camera to do another "live cross" for 1 NEWS.

Approximately 2000 voices came together to welcome their boys and make them feel like they were at home. (Source: Other)

"Look at this! We don't know what to say about this!" he said.

"This has been amazing - the journey's been really good. There's all the supporters, all the families. All the Tongan community here!

"I'm sweating! I'm just feeling the love! Felling the love of the people of Tonga!"

Hurrell and Tonga will play their next two pool matches in Hamilton at Waikato Stadium against Samoa next Saturday and the Kiwis the following weekend.
