Police have today confirmed they will not press any criminal charges over the collapse of a balcony during a Six60 gig in Dunedin in 2016.

The balcony collapsed on March 4 during the concert after up to 18 people crowded on to the structure, which was only meant to hold eight people.

Police said original reports of people jumping up and down on the balcony had been proven to be incorrect.

The Prime Minister says people need to learn what went wrong at the Six60 concert. (Source: Other)

They said the construction and materials used in the balcony did not contribute to its collapse, and said they have provided a report to MBIE on that aspect.
