Dumped All Blacks wing Julian Savea has emphatically shut down talk that he's trading New Zealand rugby for life with English Premiership side Harlequins.

Savea, 27, faces a fight to regain his position in the black jersey, having been forced out of the All Blacks thanks to the irresistible form of young Rieko Ioane on the left wing, with speculation linking him with a move abroad.

London-based side Harlequins were the biggest name linked with the try scoring machine, having lost England winger Marland Yarde mid-season.

However, the 54-Test flyer has made it abundantly clear that he has no plans to leave New Zealand anytime soon, taking to Twitter to address the rumours of his possible move.

"Fake news guys," he tweeted, referencing a report of his move to Harlequins.

Savea will now be focusing on lining up against the All Blacks, when he plays for the Barbarians against his country on November 5.
