A man brandishing a gun has threatened and robbed a security guard carrying cash to a van in West Auckland.
Police are still at the scene of the aggravated robbery in Glenmall Place, Glen Eden.
Just before 3pm, one male carrying a firearm approached a security guard who was transporting cash back to the security van, said Detective Sergeant Chris Goldsmith of Waitemata Police.
The armed man threatened the guard demanding cash and fled the scene with an undisclosed sum of cash, Mr Goldsmith said.
The security guard was not injured during the robbery, he said.

The armed man then fled the scene in a silver station wagon which has since been recovered.
